William Bailey

Actor. Born in Omaha, Nebraska as Gordon Reineck.  William was a silent screen supporting actor, often  playing the parts of the hero’s sidekick or best friend. He acted in Broadway plays such as Forbidden from 1919 to 1920. Also in other Broadway shows.  He was a member of the original cast of No, No Nanette in 1925, which was a smash hit on Broadway. William served as director of early Universal comedies and he played countless uncredited bit parts in sound films, often westerns, well into the 1950’s. He was married to Florence. He played parts in television as well as Broadway, seen in episodes from The Lone Ranger in 1949, The Range Rider from 1951 to 1953 and in Maverick in 1958. William died in California at the age of 76. (bio by: Shock)
