Tanny McDonald

Actress of Film and Stage. Her first film role was playing Juno opposite Arnold Schwartzegger (which was also his debut movie) in the film “Hercules in New York” (1970). Her other credits include a recurring role in “Kate & Allie” as Nurse Krieger, the soap “General Hospital” and the TV miniseries “The Kennedys” as Lady Bird Johnson. On broadway she has appeared with Dame Diana Rigg in “Medea,” with Raul Julia and Sheena Easton in “Man of La Mancha,” with Christopher Plummer and Glenda Jackson in “Macbeth,” with Geraldine Page in the Tennessee Williams play “Clothes for a Summer Hotel,” directed by Jose Quintero, with Eva Marie Saint in “The Lincoln Mask,” and with Zero Mostel in her debut, “Fiddler on the Roof.” Off-Broadway credits include Manhattan Theatre Club and New York Shakespeare Festival/ Public Theatre —notably Hamlet with Kevin Kline. She was also Kathleen Chalfant’s stand-by in the New York production of “Wit”. Tanny was a leading lady in regional theaters across the country in such plays as “Long Day’s Journey into Night,” “Heartbreak House,” “A Lesson from Aloes,” “Pal Joey,” and “A Little Night Music.” She appeared opposite David McCallum in “Signpost to Murder,” and was Lady Macbeth opposite Christopher Walken.
