Tamara Dobson

Actress. A native of Baltimore, Maryland, Dobson is best remembered for her role as Cleopatra Jones in the 1973 blaxploitation film, “Cleopatra Jones”, and the 1975 follow-up film, “Cleopatra Jones And The Casino Of Gold”. A 6’2 former fashion model, she became known as the Fashionable Kung Fu Queen and was also considered to be Hollywood’s first black action-heroine.  Among Dobson’s other roles are the films, “Come Back, Charleston Blue” (1972), “Fuzz” (1972), “Norman… Is That You?” (1976), “Murder At The World Series” (1977), “Chained Heat” (1983), “Amazons” (1984), and the television programs, “Buck Rogers In The 25th Century”, and “Jason Of Star Command”. She died  following a battle with multiple sclerosis. (bio by: K)
