Actor. A native of San Francisco, California, Enriquez is best remembered to television audiences for his role as Hispanic police officer, ‘Lieutenant Ray Calletano’ on the television series, “Hill Street Blues” from 1981 to 1985. He also appeared in films including, “Bananas” (1971), “Santiago’s Ark” (1972), “Serpico” (1973), “Nicky’s World” (1974), “Harry And Tonto” (1974), “Katherine” (1975), “Foster Laurie” (1975), “Blood Bath” (1976), “High Risk” (1976), “The Call Of The Wild” (1976), “It Happened At Lakewood Manor” (1977), “The Lazarus Syndrome” (1978), “Marathon” (1980), “Gridlock” (1980), “Under Fire” (183), “Choices Of The Heart” (1983), “The Evil That Men Do” (1983), “Hostage Flight” (1985), “Pery Mason: The Case Of The Scandalous Scoundrel” (1987), “Bulletproof” (1988), and his last role as ‘Ramirez’ in the 1989 film, “Full Exposure: The Sex Tapes Scandal.” He also made guest appearances on several televion programs, “Dream West”, “Hart To Hart”, “Benson”, “Barnaby Jones”, ” Charlie’s Angels”, “Police Story”, “Baretta”, “Good Heavens”, “Chico And The Man”, and “WKRP In Cincinnati.” Rene Enriquez passed away from the effects of pancreatic cancer on March 23, 1990, in Tarzana, California, at the age of 58.
