Actor. He appeared in the movie The Ragman’s Daughter, and on TV, in Siege of Golden Hill, Have Bird, Will Travel, Against The Crowd, Here I Stand, The Shabby Tiger, Strangers and Crown Court. After playing some small roles in “Coronation Street”, Peter was cast to play “Bert Tilsley” Husband of Ivy and father of Brian. Peter was openly gay, and had a few “Run-ins” with the local police, who, in those days, were under instruction to arrest anyone who was that way. He suffered a stroke while waiting for one of the Trials, that stemmed from his lifestyle. He continued acting on “Coronation Street” hiding his stroke behind a storyline that had him injured in an accident.
