Photojournalist. He was one of Hollywood’s best known and respected celebrity photographers. His career spanned nearly three decades and his photographs appeared in many well known publications including “Time” and “People” magazine. His high profile celebrity subjects included Elvis Presley, Frank Sinatra, Johnny Carson, Elizabeth Taylor, Richard Burton, Jack Nicholson and several American presidents. He was under contract by several of the top motion picture studios to attend and photograph many of Hollywood’s elite social functions, including parties, weddings and backstage television events. He was the principal photographer in the marriages of Robert Wagner and Natalie Wood and also the wedding of Harry Hamlin and Nicolette Sheridan. His extensive archive collection contained the images of more than two million photographs of Hollywood’s biggest and most notable motion picture stars. He died following complications from elective knee replacement surgery at the age of 67. His body was returned to his native hometown of Zurich, Switzerland for burial. (bio by: Nils M. Solsvik Jr.)
