Peter Baldwin

British Actor. He was an actor who was very prominent on British television for decades and whose character Derek Wilton on the long running series “Coronation Street” was a fan favorite. After training as an actor, he worked for various theatre companies like the West of England Theatre Company and Old Vic.  Baldwin got his start in television appearing in the television series “Stage By Stage” in 1954.  He would later appear in such series as “Harriet’s Back In Town”, “The New Dick Van Dyke Show”, “The Hard Word”, and “Tales of the Unexpected”, but it was his starring as Derek Wilton in “Coronation Street” from 1976 to 1997 that made him a fan favorite.   After he was “killed off” in the series in 1997, Baldwin continued to make appearances in television and on the stage.    In 2008 Baldwin took over ownership of a toy shop in London.
