Actress, Singer. A pretty brunette, she will be best remembered for playing ‘Bobbie Jo Bradley’ in the TV Series “Petticoat Junction” (1963 to 1965) and totaled more that 70 episodes during her two year run. Born Patricia Joy Woodell, in New England, she had aspirations of becoming a performer during her youth and broke into the industry as a vocalist at the age of eighteen with a singing engagement at New York’s Catskills resort. This led to the beginning of her career in television initially with roles in the programs “Cheyenne”, “Hawaiian Eye” and “77 Sunset Strip”. In 1963, she was cast to play ‘Bobbie Jo Bradley’ in the series “Petticoat Junction” and remained in that role for two seasons until being replaced by Lori Saunders in 1965. After leaving the series, she focused on her singing career and recorded the single “What Good Would It Do?” (1965). She landed a recurring role in the TV series “Bright Promise” (1969) and during the 1970s, she appeared in a string of low budget films including “The Big Doll House” (1971), “The Twilight People” (1972), “The Roommates” (1973″ and “Class of ’74” (1974). She retired from the entertainment industry during the 1970s. She was formerly married to actor Gary Clarke. She died following a lengthy battle with cancer. (bio by: C.S.)
