Michele Fawdon

Actress. She shall be remembered for her long career on Australian television. Raised in the London suburbs she had stage ambitions from an early age and at 12 entered the Bush Davies Theatrical School in Sussex. Moving to Australia she made her silver screen bow in 1971’s “Stockade” and received her first major notice as Mary Magdalene in a 1972 stage production of “Jesus Christ Superstar”. Over the years she earned praise in “Matlock Police” from the early 1970s and “A Country Practice” which ran thru the 1980s and early 1990s. Michele amassed a long list of other small screen credits including “All Saints”, “Marshall Law”, “G.P.”, “The Flying Doctors”, and “Blue Heelers” and was twice honoured with a Best Actress Award by the Australian Film Institute, for her turn as Cathy Baikas in the 1979 feature film “Cathy’s Child” as well as for the 1987 telefeature “The Fish Are Safe”. Late in her life she was seen in “City Homicide” and at her death from cancer her final appearances in “Killing Time” remained unreleased. (bio by: Bob Hufford)
