Actor. He is best remembered for his roles on television soap operas. Among his many roles are as, ‘Jonathan Hadary’ on “King’s Crossing” in 1982, ‘Dick Hart’ on “Search For Tomorrow” from 1970 to 1971, ‘Dr. Peter ‘Pete’ Chernak’ on “Love Is A Many Splendored Thing” in 1970, ‘David Renaldi’ on “One Life To Live” from 1983 to 1986, and in 1988, and as villain ‘Roger Thorpe’ from 1971 to 1980, and 1989 to 1997, on “The Guiding Light.” He won an Emmy Award for Best Actor in a Daytime Drama for his portrayal of Thorpe in 1994. Zaslow also appeared in the films, “You Light Up My Life” (1977), “Meteor” (1979), “Seven Minutes In Heaven” (1985), “Woman On The Ledge” (1993), “Star Trek: First Contact” (1996), and several television appearances including, “Law & Order” “Spenser For Hire” “The Love Boat” “Lou Grant” and “Star Trek.” He was the Godfather of actor Christian Slater. In 1975 he married Susan Hufford and together adopted two Korean girls named, Helena and Marika. In 1997 he was diagnosed with Lou Gehrig’s Disease (ALS), and on December 6, 1998, at the age of 54, he passed away from the disease in Manhattan, New York. After his death his wife and children founded Zazangels, which is an organization seeking to find a cure for Lou Gehrig’s Disease (ALS).
