Matilde Muñoz Sampedro

Actress. Member of a long family of stage and screen actors. She was born and died in Madrid (Spain). She developed her career on Stage and Screen. On stage, she appeared in “La Novia de Reverte (1933), “Casi un Cuento de Hadas” (1953) or “El Patio” (1953). In 1918, she married to actor Rafael Bardem and founded their own company. In cinema, she is best remembered in “Tuvo La Culpa Adán” (1944), “Esa Pareja Feliz” (1951), “Cómicos” (1953), “Muerte de un Ciclista” (1955), “Calle Mayor” (1956), “Nobleza Baturra” (1963) and “Bohemios” (1968). She was the mother of motion picture director Juan Antonio Bardem (who often worked with his mother), actress Pilar Bardem and Grandmother of actor Javier Bardem. Her sisters Guadalupe Muñoz Sampedro and Mercedes Muñoz Sampedro also were actresses. She died of a heart attack.  (bio by: José L Bernabé Tronchoni)
