Mari Carmen Prendes

Spanish-born screen, stage and television actress, sister of actors Mercedes and Luis Prendes. She made her debut on stage at the age of 15 in the play “Los millones de Monty.” Before the start of Spanish Civil War she went to Buenos Aires(Argentina) and she not returned to Spain until 1945. On stage she played in “Historia de una Escalera” (Buero Vallejo), “La Casa de Bernarda Alba” (García Lorca), and “Las Comedias Bárbaras” (Valle-Inclán), who earned her prestigious stage awards. She also appeared in TV series, as “La Casa de los Martínez.” In movies, she often played comedic roles in films such as: “Sor Citroen” (1967), “Don Erre que Erre” (1970) and “El Pájaro de la Felicidad” (1993), her last film.
