Margaretta Scott (Margaretta Scott)
British Stage, Screen and Television Actress. She had a long career that spanned more than seventy years. She debuted on stage at the age of 14, in Romeo and Juliet. Her screen debut was an uncredited appearance in Alexander Korda’s “The Private Life Of Don Juan” (1934), and she is best remembered for her work in “Things To Come” (1936), with Raymond Massey and Ralph Richardson. In television, she is best known as ‘Mrs Pumphrey’ in “All Creatures Great and Small.” She was also one of the first signatories of the document that established Equity, the British actors’ union, in 1934.
