Marda Vanne (Marda Vanne)
Actress. Born Margaretha van Hulsteyn in Johannesburg, South Africa, she moved to England in 1918, where she began her career performing at the Fortune Theatre London. For the next 20 years she was primarily a stage performer. She entered feature films appearing in “Strange Boarders” (1938). Her other film credits included “The Great Adventure” (1939), “Dark Possession” (1959), “The First Gentleman” (1961) and “Joanna” (1968). For television, she appeared on the BBC series “Vanity Fair”, “Our Mutual Friend”, “The Eustace Diamonds”, “Theatre 625” and “Middlemarch”. She died at age 73 in London, England.
