Marc Frasier Davis (Marc Frasier Davis)
Marc Davis was one of Walt Disney’s trusted “Nine Old Men” animators/advisors. He began working at the Disney Studios in 1935 until his retirement in 1978. He remained with Disney as an advisor up until his death. He worked on nearly every Disney animated feature film. He was famous for animating memorable female characters and villians including, Tinkerbell, Briar Rose (Sleeping Beauty), Alice in Wonderland and villainesses Cruella De Vil and Maleficient. He received many awards including: a 1992 salute from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, a 1989 Annecy Film Festival honors and a Disney Legends Award from the Studio, the International Animation Society’s Winsor McCay Award. He was also instrumental in the development of many attractions at Disneyland and Walt Disney World, especially Pirates of the Carribean and the Bear County Jamboree.
