Manolita Saval

Actress. She was born, of Spanish parents, in Paris, France. She studied piano in the conservatory of Valencia. She began her career as singer in the zarzuela “Marina.” But she was claimed for mexican opera singer José Mojica as his partner in the film “El Capitán Aventurero” (1938). Then, she stablished in Mexico, where developed all her career on stage, screen and television. On stage, she played on “La Criada Malcriada,” “Tartufo o el Impostor,” “Gigi” and “Papacito Piernas Largas.” On screen, she appeared in “Virgen de Medianoche” (1941), “Los Miserables” (1943), “Arrabalera”(1951), “Esta Noche No” (1966) and “El Ministro y Yo” (1976). In television, she is best remembered in “Un Amor en la Sombra,” “La Duda,” “La Casa de las Hienas” and “El Abuelo y Yo.” Her son is the actor Manuel Saval. She and died in Mexico D.F.
