Actress. She became a houshold name starring in the long-running British television soap Coronation Street(1960-?), as Ivy Tildsley from (1971-1994). Born in Yorkshire, she first accheived her breaktrough to stardom in Ken Loach’s “Kes” (1969). Her television credits include; “Queenie’s Castle” (1970), “Follyfoot” (1971), and “Coronation Street” (1971-1994). She married Derrick Barksby and produced one son, (Stephen).
