Lyda Roberti Ernst (Lyda Roberti Ernst)
Actress. Born in Warsaw, Poland, she was the daughter of Roberti, the renowned Continental circus clown. In the early 1920s, she made her debut in San Francisco as a vaudeville chorus girl and as a stage dancer and a singer in Los Angeles. By the 1930s, she was a popular performer on Broadway, was signed by Paramount Studios and made her film debut in “The Big Broadcast” (1935). Forced to withdraw from set of “Wives Never Know” due to illness in 1935, her promising film career was curtailed. She died of a heart attack in Hollywood, California. (bio by: John “J-Cat” Griffith)
