Lucien Guitry

Actor. Born in Paris, France, he was considered one of the best leading French actors of his time. In 1885, he began appearing at the French Mikhaylovsky Theatre. By the early 1900s, he became a prominent on the French stages at the Porte Saint Martine Theatre  and the Varietes Theatre. He resigned in 1911, to become director of the Renaissance and established his reputation as one of the greatest contemporary French actors in the drama of modern reality productions. His only film was a documentary, “Those of Our Land” (1915). He died at age 64 in Paris France. (bio by: John “J-Cat” Griffith)
