Louis Brinckwirth (Louis Brinckwirth)
Mr. Brinckwirth learned the brewery business with his father Theodore, who had established the Lafayette Brewery in 1848. After working for two years for the Brinckwirth-Griesdieck-Nolker brewery in St. Louis, Missouri, he went to Milwaukee to get further information about the brewing business by working at the Blatz Brewery. After studying there & in Wheeling, West Virginia, he returned to St. Louis & rejoined the firm of Brinckwirth, Griesedieck & Nolker. Later the firm became known as Brinckwirth & Nolker & later to the Brinckwirth & Nolker Brewing Company. The company was consolidated with others into the St. Louis Brewing Association in 1889. Brinckwirth was assistant manager of the Brinckwirth & Nolker branch until his retirement in 1902. He was also vice president of the German-American Bank.
