Lee Chamberlin

Actress, Playwright. She will perhaps be best remembered for playing ‘Brenda’ and ‘Madame Rosalie’ in the popular children’s television program “The Electric Company” (1971 to 1973). Additionally, she played ‘Pat Baxter’ in the TV serial “All My Children” (1983 to 1995). Born Elise La Pallo, her father was a chef, she showed an early interest in story writing and won a play writing contest through the New York Chapter of the American Cancer Society when she was seventeen. She appeared in several off-Broadway productions and in 1973, she played ‘Cordelia’ opposite James Earl Jones in “King Lear”. She marked her motion picture debut with the British film “All at Sea” (1970) and went on to appear in the movies “Uptown Saturday Night” (1974) and “Let’s Do It Again” (1975). She played ‘Odile Richards” in the TV-mini series “Roots: The Next Generation” (1979). In 2010, she founded The Playwright’s Inn Project in France. She died from cancer.
