Kathleen Eileen Hooker Robinson (Kathleen Robinson)

Kathleen Eileen Hooker Robinson

Actress.  Born Eileen Hooker, she won the first Miss Nampa beauty pageant in 1938 and the 1938 Miss Idaho contest (part of a national Miss USA competition), and was runner-up to Miss Idaho the following year in 1939. In the middle 1940s, she was signed to a dancing contract by Darryl F. Zanuck, then vice president in charge of production for 20th Century Fox Studios.  The signing took place in Sun Valley, Idaho.  She performed in small roles in numerous movies, on several occasions being Fred Astaire’s dancing partner.  She later gave up her movie career when she married Earl Sidney Robinson and settled down in Nampa, Idaho, for the normal life of a housewife, raising two children, Kathleen and Mark.  The Robinson family moved to La Canada, California in 1957.    (bio by: Robert Jesse Schoonover)
