Julia Meade

Actress, Television Personality. Born Julia Kunz, her father was a businessman, her mother was an actress, Julia was raised in Ridgewood, New Jersey. After choosing to focus on a career in entertainment, she enrolled at the Yale University Drama School and studied Theatre. She acquired acting experience in summer stock productions and worked as a model, prior to making her television debut with an episode from the series “Lux Video Theatre”. Her  breakthrough role was her origination of ‘Jessica Collins’ in the Broadway production of “The Tender Trap” (1954 to 1955). This was followed with roles of substance in the films “Pillow Talk” (1959) and “Tammy Tell Me True” (1961). Beginning in the 1950s, she became a familiar presence on television as a spokesperson on “Your Hit Parade” and “The Ed Sullivan Show” for automobile companies including Lincoln and Mercury. In addition, she appeared in commercials for Kodak products. She was a panelist on such popular game shows as “Match Game” and “To Tell the Truth”.
