Juan Andreu Moragas

Motion Picture Director. He was born in Barcelona (Catalunya) and died in Valencia (Comunidad Valenciana). He was a pioneer in the silent cinema in Valencia, where he moved from his native Barcelona in the 1920s. He is best remembered for his film El Faba de Ramonet (1933), the first sound film in Valencian language. He also directed films such as Homenaje de Valencia a Vicente Blasco Ibáñez (1921), La Coronación de la Virgen de los Desamparados (1923), Fabricación de Muebles Curvados (1924), La Barraqueta del Nano (1924), La Trapera (1925), Nobleza de Corazones (1925), El Idiota (1925) and El Místico (1926). After the Spanish Civil War, he worked for the NO-DO (Noticiario Documental) until his death. (bio by: José L Bernabé Tronchoni)
