John Macchia (John Macchia)
Actor. He is best known for his regular role in the “Beach Party” films of the 1960s, as Joey, the yes-man of biker gang leader Erich Von Zipper (Harvey Lembeck). His entries in the series were “Beach Party” (1963), “Bikini Beach” (1964), “Beach Blanket Bingo” (1965), “How to Stuff a Wild Bikini” (1965), and “The Ghost in the Invisible Bikini” (1966). Macchia was born in Los Angeles. He was briefly under contract to 20th Century-Fox in the late 1950s and did occasional guest spots on TV before finding regular work at low-budget American International Pictures. Jerry Lewis cast him in three of his comedies, “The Patsy” (1964) and “The Disorderly Orderly” (1964), and “Three on a Couch” (1966), and he also appeared in “The Family Jewels” (1965) and “Sergeant Deadhead” (1965).
