Jeanne Bates (Jeanne Bates)
Actress. She began her career in radio soap operas and signed to Columbia Pictures in 1942. In 1943 she debuted in the Boston Blackie mystery “The Chance of a Lifetime”, followed by starring as heroine in “The Phantom”. Her notable film credits include “Death of a Salesman” (1951), “Blood Arrow” (1958), “Eraserhead” (1977), “Die Hard 2” (1990), “Grand Canyon” (1991), and “Mulholland Dr.” (2001). On television, she is best remembered for playing Nurse Wills on “Ben Casey” from 1961 to 1966. She also appeared in “One Step Beyond,” “Perry Mason,” “Gunsmoke,” “Lassie,” “The Twilight Zone,” Bonanza,” “The Rockford Files,” “Days of Our Lives” and “That 70s Show”.
