Isa  Quensel

Swedish Actress and Opera singer. She was recognized as a great personality and became one of the most respected actresses in Swedish film history. She made her dubute 1929 in the play ”Rose-Marie” at Vasateatern in Stockholm. She then commenced a career containing over 50 films, leading roles in many operas, TV-series, radio shows etc. Her most popular film-figure was as Maria ”Raggen”, in ”Raggen, det är jag det” (”Raggen”, that´s me, 1937). Other noted films are Damen i Svart (Lady in Black, 1958), Moln över Hellesta (Moon over Hellesta, 1956) and Änglar, finns dom? (1961). For many years she was connected to the Royal Opera in Stockholm, and played several leading roles, for instance in Carmen, Cosi fan tutte, The Barber of Seville and The Wedding of Figaro. She also made the voice of ”Madame Mim” in the Swedish version of Disney´s ”The Sword in the Stone”.
