Irwin Charone

Actor. His father was an attorney, he served with the United States Army Signal Corps during World War II and upon his return home, he studied acting at the Goodman Theatre School, followed by the Art Institute of Chicago and the American Theatre Wing of New York City. He launched his career in television during the 1950s and went on to appear in a wide range of programs including “Hazel”, “77 Sunset Strip”, “McHale’s Navy”, “The Jack Benny Program”, “The Munsters”, “The Monkees’ and “The Lucy Show” among many others. He later became identifiable in several Disney Pictures including “Herbie Rides Again” (1974), “The Strongest Man in the World” (1975) and “Gus” (1976). (bio by: C.S.)
