Actress. In the 1940s this native New Yorker began her acting career with the American Negro Theater. After a brief stint on Broadway she went on to a successful motion picture and television career. Some of her most famous performances were Nurse Rachel in “The Boy in the Plastic Bubble” (1976), Lottie in “Diary of a Mad housewife” (1970) and Wilhelmena Brown in “The River Niger” (1976).
