Henry Coleman Baskerville (Henry Coleman Baskerville)
Architect. The son of architect Henry Eugene Baskervill, he added an “e” to the family named after graduating from the University of Pennsylvania and joining his father’s firm, which was reorganized as Baskervill and Son. His professional work was interrupted in World War II when he entered the United States Navy as a Lieutenant and served as a gunnery officer until his discharge as a Lieutenant Commander. He returned to his firm upon his father’s death in 1946, and important projects under his leadership included twenty-one hospital commissions in Virginia, facilities at the Naval Mine Weapons Depot in Yorktown (1952-1957), and the Seventh Stree Christian Church (1951) and Trinity Methodist Church (1956) in Richmond.
