Hans Clarin (Hans Clarin)
German Actor. Considered one of Germany’s most popular television actors, he is best remembered for his role as the legendary and unforgotable voice of the goblin “Pumuckl” in the cartoon series “Meister Eder und sein Pumuckl ” of 1982. Born in Wilhelmshaven, Germany, his career began on the stage in Munich and spanned over 50 years; he performed in more than 100 films for the cinema and television. Among them were “Wirtshaus im Spessart,” “Das indische Tuch” and “Pippi Langstrumpf” (“Pippe Longstockings”) where he played Donner-Karlsson. Also performed in many series including “Weißblaue Geschichten” and as the pastor in the “Hochwürden” series. Reknowned as a voice-over actor, in the 1960s he was also the voice of Edd Byrnes’ role of “Cookie” for the German television version of the US television series “77 Sunset Strip.” (bio by: Fred Beisser) Cause of death: Heart failure
