Hal England (Hal England)
Actor. He is best remembered for his roles as ‘Waldo’ on television’s “Bewitched” (1964-1972), and as ‘Lt. Douglas Merrill’ on “The Clear Horizon” (1960-1962). England, who was originally from North Carolina, began his career as a stage actor appearing first on Broadway in New York City and then with Joseph Papp’s first season of Shakespeare in the Park, also held in New York. He appeared in plays such as, “How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying,” “Love Me Little,” “Say Darling,” “MacBeth,” “Romeo And Juliet,” and “Two Gentlemen Of Verona.” England also appeared in the films, “Our Sons” (1991), “Going Under” (1990), “The Bonfire Of The Vanities” (1990), “Sweet Bird Of Youth” (1989), “The Amazing Howard Hughes” (1977), “The Dirt Gang” (1972), and “Hang Em’ High” (1968), with Clint Eastwood. He also had many television guest roles as well including, “Dr. Kildare,” “Dragnet,” “F Troop,” “Here’s Lucy,” “Sanford And Son,” “Wonder Woman,” “Eight Is Enough,” “Fantasy Island,” “Quantum Leap,” and “Murder, She Wrote.” (bio by: K)
