Gretchen Wyler

Actress. She appeared on stage, in films and television for over six decades.  After beginning her career during the 1950s as a dancer,  she first won fame for her performances in the Broadway productions of “Silk Stockings” and “Sly Fox”.  Wyler went on to appear in such TV series as “The Phil Silvers Show”, “Toast of the Town”, “Naked City”, “Charlie’s Angels”, “It’s a Living”, “St. Elsewhere”, “Falcon Crest”, “Designing Women” and “Friends”. She also had a recurring role on the series “Dallas”. Her film credits include “The Devil’s Brigade” (1968) and “Private Benjamin” (1980). In addition to her career in entertainment, Wyler was a devoted animal rights activist for many years. She died from breast cancer. (bio by: C.S.)
