Greene Erskine

Erskine made a fortune in the import/export business.  Named after Revolutionary War hero Nathaniel Green, (his mother’s second cousin), Green moved to New York City in 1831 & founded Knickerbocker magazine.  He later returned to St. Louis & was a successful grocer on Laclede’s Landing.
