Gloria Marín (Gloria Marín)
Actress. Popular Mexican actress who had numerous roles in cinema, theater and TV during 1930s through the 1980s. She teamed with Mexican singer and actor Jorge Negrete as the most popular romantic couple of the era, both on and off screen. They together played a leading role in eleven films. Among them “¡Ay Jalisco, no te rajes!” [Jalisco, Don’t Backslide] (1941), “Historia de un gran amor” (1943), “Una carta de amor” [A letter of love] (1943), and “Un gallo en corral ajeno” [The Straying Rooster] (1952). Some of her co-stars were Hugo del Carril, Abel Salazar, and Arturo de Córdova, with whom she starred in “Crepúsculo” [Twilight] (1944), one of the most important films of her career.
