Gisele  MacKenzie

Actress/Singer. Known as “Canada’s First Lady of Song,” she began her music career at a young age learning to play the violin and piano, later appearing at the Royal Conservatory in Toronto, Ontario. In 1951 she had her own show, “Meet Gisele” on the Canadian Broadcastion Corporation before she moved to Los Angeles, California. She is best remembered for her role as a vocalist on the television series “Your Hit Parade” from 1953 to 1957, and her appearances on “The Jack Benny Program” in 1950. In 1957 she also had her own program, “The Gisele MacKenzie Show” which ended in 1958, and later in 1963 she was on, “The Sid Caesar Show.” She also appeared in the film, “Edgar Allan Poe’s “One Minute Before Death” (1972), as ‘Agatha.’ Among her other television appearances are, “I’ve Got A Secret,” “Biography,” “MacGyver,” “Murder, She Wrote,” “Crazy Like A Fox,” “Family Feud,” and “Burke’s Law,” among others. Also during the 1950s MacKenzie appeared on several radio programs with the likes of Edgar Bergen, Bob Crosby, Morton Downey, and Mario Lanza.
