Writer. Born Georges Victor Marcel Moinaux in Tours, Franch, he was a novelist notable for his and cynical humor. While serving in the French military, he became interested in poetry. After his military time, he began writing poetry reviews for a small newspaper and by the 1890s, he was writing plays for the theaters of Montmartre. He became a leading dramatist, producing many plays and novels. Some of his more then fifty works included “La vie de caserne” (1895), “L’Extra-Lucide” (1897), “Sigismond” (1901), “Les Linotte”s (1912) and “Le Gora” (1920). In 1899, he was awarded the Legion of Honor and was elected to the French Literary Concourt Academy in 1926. He died on his 71st birthday in Paris, France. (bio by: John “J-Cat” Griffith)
