Eva Franco (Eva Franco)
Actress. Franco was a leading figure on the Golden Age of Argentinian stage and cinema. Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Franco debuted in the stock company of her parents at the age of 16. In 1929, she founded her own company and she worked with Federico García Lorca on the play “La Dama Boba.” In her long career, Franco appeared in more than 200 plays and films. Her prolific work earned her several awards, such as Moliére Prize, Podestà Award and the Best Actress Award by the Critics Asociation of Argentina. Franco was also the co-founder of the Argentinian Asociation of Actors and Casa del Teatro. She died in Mar del Plata. (bio by: José L Bernabé Tronchoni)
