Eva Elisabet Dahlbeck (Eva Elisabet Dahlbeck)
Actress. Born in Sweden, she is best known to many for her roles in director Ingmar Bergman’s films “Secrets of Women” (1952), “A Lesson in Love” (1954), “Journey Into Autumn” (1955) and “Brink of Life”, for which she shared the Best Actress Award at the Cannes Film Festival in 1958. After attending the Royal Dramatic Theatre School in Stockholm, she began her career on stage during the early 1940s. Her other film credits include “The Village” (1953), “Loving Couples” (1964) and “The Red Mantle” (1967). She retired from acting and became an accomplished writer. (bio by: C.S.)
