Earle W. Graser (Earle W. Graser)
Radio Actor. The Canadian-born Graser was raised in Detroit, Michigan. After touring in tent shows, he obtained a job as an announcer at the WXYZ radio station. He later auditioned at the radio station for the voice of ‘The Lone Ranger.’ He won the part and was the 1st actor to play the Lone Ranger on radio, on April 16, 1933. He was killed on April 8, 1941, while returning home from the radio station in a car accident, when he fell asleep at the wheel and crashed into a parked trailer.
