David Garrick (David Garrick)
Actor. He was regarded as the father of modern theatre and was one of the most noted performers of the 18th Century. He pioneered a more realistic acting style, stepping away from the vogue for declaiming lines from plays. In his 35-year career, he penned more than 20 plays and depict 20 of Shakespeare’s most famous roles, including Hamlet, King Lear and Richard III. He also managed the Theatre Royal in Drury Lane London, England for 29 years. (bio by: John “J-Cat” Griffith) Family links: Spouse: Eva-Maria Veigel Garrick (1724 – 1822)
