Clementine Hunter (Clementine Hunter)
African-American folk artist whose works depicted scenes of daily life on Melrose Plantation, where she lived for approximately 85 years. Although there is some doubt about her actual date of birth, it is generally believed that she was at least 100 years old when she died in 1988. She is buried next to her close friend, author Francois Mignon. (bio by: Joel Manuel)
