Clarice Mayne (Clarice Mayne)
Singer, Actress. She began her career in the early 1900s performing in the theatres and music halls in Britain. She was most noted for the variety act “Clarice Mayne & That”, which included her singing with husband composer, James W. Tate on piano. Their popular songs included “A Broken Doll”, “This sings, That Plays!”, “I was a Good little girl, ‘till I met You” and “Put on Your Ta-Ta little Girlie”. On stage, he appeared in a number of pantomime versions of “Cinderella” in 1916, “Dick Whittington” in 1918 and “Puss In Boots” in 1920. She also appeared in the film, “Educated Evans” (1936).
