Christl Mardayn

Christl Mardayn started Music, Piano and Dancing in the Academy of Art of Vienna. She began as a Soubrette at the Vienna Volksoper and moved on to the Raimund-Theater and also engagement at the Carl-Theater. From 1929 she was acting at the theater in der Josefstadt. In 1938, she made in Paris the Film “Le Drame de Shangai” (“The Shanghai Drama”) for G.W. Pabs, with Music by Ralph Erwin and Lyrics by Louis Poterat. She created there the Chanson “Toi l’inconnu dont j’ai revĂ©” and three more songs. After returning from Paris, she opened with an Operetta “La Parisienne” with Elfriede Datzig. She made 25 Films from 1932 to 1957 and gave Stage Performances and Concerts at the end of her Life. (bio by: Rudi Polt)
