Actress. A writer and producer as well as performer in around two dozen film and television features and, she is best remembered for her 1970 screen debut as Selina in Donald Shebib’s classic drama “Goin’ Down the Road”. A native of Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, she was 22 when she portrayed the girlfriend of one of the two protagonists in “Goin’ Down the Road”, the story of two young men leaving Nova Scotia to find a better life in Toronto. Over the years she became an award winning documentary producer while appearing in a number of movie, stage, and television productions including 1977’s “Tracks”, the 1987 “Concrete Angels”, “The Graveyard Story” (1991), 2003’s “Rinoceros Eyes”, and the 2008 “Of Memory and Murder”. Diagnosed with terminal ovarian cancer in June of 2010 she convinced Sheib to make a sequel to “Goin’ Down the Road” and spent her last months reprising Selina for “Down the Road Again”. Completed shortly prior to her death, the work was pending 2011 release. She was occasionally billed as either Cayle-Lorraine Sinclair or Lorraine Sinclair. (bio by: Bob Hufford)
