Carrie Marcus Neiman (Carrie Neiman)
Businesswoman. Co-founder of Neiman-Marcus department stores, sister of Herbert Marcus. She encouraged the establishment of weekly fashion shows, fall fashion expositions, and, beginning in 1938, the annual Neiman Marcus Awards, given to designers for distinguished service in the field of fashion. She died of pleurisy at her home after an extended illness.
