Carol Burns

Australian Actress. Burns was a very prominent actress in film, television, and on the theatrical stage. She started in the theater at a young age and was a founding member of Queensland Theatre Company where she was a major part of its success.  Burns performed in the other theatrical productions and went into directing in her later years.   She later went into television and films and received various awards for her performances.   Burns’ most famous television role was of the “tough lesbian bikie” Franky Doyle in series “Prisoner: Cell Block H”, for which she won a Logie Award in the Best Actress in a Series category.    Her other television credits include “Strike It Rich!”, “Casualty”, and “Heartbeat”.    Burns’ film credits include “Strikebound” (1984), “The Mango Tree” (1977), and “Tracks” (2013).    She passed away of cancer.
