Actress. Born Barbara May Theresa Werle, she attended parochial school and following graduation, she received training in professional ballroom dancing. She achieved national attention when along with her partner John Mansell (under her married name Barbara Branca), they won the Harvest Moon Ball title in 1955. Further film credits include “Battle of the Bulge” (1965), “The Rare Breed” (1966), “Seconds” (1966) and “Krakatoa: East of Java” (1969). She retired from acting during the mid-1970s and devoted her time to participation in her church choir. Her son John Branca became a well-known attorney whom represented rock musicians.
