Anne James

Actress. Born Delores Anne Sidener, her father was a Chicago police officer, her mother worked with Chicago’s Budget Office, she dreamed of becoming an opera singer. During her teens, she moved to Hollywood and experienced performing at the Greek Theater. This led to her being spotted by a Hollywood agent and a contract with Columbia Pictures. She marked her film debut in the picture “Pecos River” (1951) and followed this playing ‘Gay Kendall’ opposite Gene Autry in the Western “Barbed Wire” (1952). She co-starred opposite Mickey Rooney in the Comedy “Sound Off” (1952). During this period, Anne went overseas to entertain troops fighting in the Korean War. She married an Air Force pilot and retired from acting to raise her family. Additionally, she attained a Masters Degree in English. (bio by: C.S.)
