Anabel Shaw (Anabel Shaw)
Actress. She is remembered for her roles in the films “Shock” (1946, with Vincent Price and Lynn Bari), “Secret Beyond the Door…” (1947, with Joan Bennett and Michael Redgrave), and “Gun Crazy” (1950, with John Dall and Peggy Cummings). Born Marjorie Henshaw, she graduated from the University of California at Berkeley, California in 1943 and studied acting at the Neely Dixon School of Drama in Hollywood, California. She was noticed by talent scouts and initially signed with Warner Brothers Studios before moving to 20th Century Fox in 1946. Her other film credits include “Dangerous Years” (1947), “Killer at Large” (1947, with Bob Lowrey) “In This Corner” (1948, with Scott Brady), and “To Hell and Back” (1955, with Audie Murphy). She was married to sociologist Joseph Ford (1948 until their divorce in 1986) and George Scopecek (1986 until his death in 1992). She died of cancer at the age of 88. (bio by: William Bjornstad)
